Almost every time I apply my makeup, I always do something completely different. When you get stuck in a routine, you tend to get bored of it quickly.
What took me so long to learn is that, it doesn’t matter how you apply your makeup, it’s all about having fun with it and making sure you do it the way you like it and what works for you. There’s no right or wrong way to do it.
Four things I usually like to change are how I apply my concealer, foundation, setting powder, and powder foundation. Here are a few ways I change them up.
1. To make my face a little more matte, I’ll apply foundation powder onto my face and then my concealer, followed by my foundation stick. I would also sometimes set my under eye with the setting powder. I do this, because my face is more on the oily side and if I’m trying to keep my skin from producing so much oil, I’ll use this technique.
2. During the Summer, I just apply concealer, because...well it’s too hot to bake a cake on my face. At this time, I keep my makeup routine very simple with a small bit of eyeshadow, concealer, powder foundation, lipstick, bronzer, blush, and highlight. It may sound like a lot but I keep it on the lighter side and it always comes out looking natural.
3. During the Fall and Winter, I’ll use more liquid foundations because I know my skin will be more on the dryer side...a little lol. I’ll provide a normal routine of concealer, liquid foundation with a matte finish...of course, and foundation powder.
4. A new way I’ve decided to try was applying setting powder first before concealer and everything else. Ok, now that I think about it, it may be something makeup/beauty influencers have already tried but I’m just getting on the bandwagon. And you know what, I loved it. I’ve only tried it once so far but I can tell a difference it’s made in my look. It also provides a matte finish which I love.
Note, all of these options are very light and provide minimal effort. I hope you continue to have fun with your makeup look and apply it the way you like it :)
