12 Healthy Snacks You Will Crave


I don’t know about you but I love snacking and when I have a craving, I want something very particular. I have two go-to snacks right now that I’ll be sharing in addition to some others I have tried or want to try.

I’m plant based so the first thing I go to is the back of the bag to read what the ingredients are and if I can’t pronounce it, I don’t want it.

1st is Smartfood White Cheddar Popcorn.  It tastes just like regular popcorn...but better.  The white cheddar and the hint of salt hits my taste buds just right. I don’t eat much popcorn because of the kernels but this is an exception.

2nd is Yum Earth.  The first time I tried these were when I was actually looking for healthy alternatives for candy.  I saw the strawberry licorice and decided to try it.  I haven’t gone back. This candy is sweet and flavorful. You’ll forget it’s gluten free and organic.

3rd is True North Almond Pecan Crunch is a tasty treat my mom told me about.  She brought a little baggy with her while visiting me and once I popped this cluster of yummy goodness in my mouth, there was an explosion of so much all at once.  Let’s just say I can’t stop eating them.  Every time I leave the house, the bag tags alone.  These are Almonds, Cashews, and Pecans clustered together with salt and brown rice syrup which holds it together.  So if you’re looking for something to help you stay away from Snickers and Twix, this is it.

4th is Glutino Oreo Cookies. This company has a ton of options as far as cookies. They have Vanilla Creme Dream cookies as well but I’ve tried their chocolate chip cookies and they’re so good. Right now, I have the Oreo cookies and they taste just like the Nabisco brand.

5th is Strawberry Fruit Strips.  They have a few additional flavors but when I’m trying something for the first time, I usually go with a flavor I’m comfortable with.  These fruit strips remind me of my childhood. I used to eat something similar to this and once I saw it I had to try it. It did the trick...with a more healthier side. It’s made with actual strawberries so you get that raw flavor of the embedded seeds and the natural sweetness. These are hard to find but they do have Stretch Island Fruit Strips that's a good alternative.

6th is Dates. Okay you may think, if I wanted to go to the bathroom I would eat these. Well anything you eat whether it’s healthy or not, will have you going to the bathroom.  These are so good. You can make anything with this. You can have ants on a log, make a jam, apply it as an ingredient in your meal.  There are so many ways to use this and turn it into something better.

7th is Beanfields Nacho Bean Chips. When I first began eating healthy, I was looking for a chip that was not a Lay’s potato chip.  I first tried these when I was at my previous job. It has enough salt on there where it’s not bland. Let me tell you, they are addicting.

8th is Smashmallow. They have actual marshmallows that come in various flavors. I haven’t tried that but I’ve tried the Smash Crispy, the strawberry kind to be exact.  It has the right amount of sugar so it doesn’t taste like cardboard and the strawberries taste like strawberries. Ok I sound like Willy Wonka but it’s so true. 

9th is Nature’s Bakery Fig Bar is so good. I love the berry kind but I don’t really care for the apple.  If you’ve ever had the Fig Newton Bars, you’ll love these.

10th is Made Good chocolate chip granola bar is everything wrapped together in goodness as well. I had to get rid of these because I kept eating them where I didn’t have any left...that was in days. This also comes in a variety of flavors such as, Chocolate Chip Crispy Square, Vanilla Crispy Square, Mixed Berry Granola Bar, and more. Your tastebuds will thank you.

11th is Pop Chips are so poppable they’re gone in seconds.  End of story.  They are that good.

12th is Barbara’s Baked Original Cheese Puffs are sooo good. I’ve tried the White Cheddar. As you can probably tell I love White Cheddar.  These are amazing. It has the right amount of cheese to give you that flavor.  These are also addicting. I couldn’t put the bag down.  They taste just like Cheetos but so much better. Trust me. Try it you’ll understand.


What I want to try are:

Bada Bean Bada Boom Bean Crunchy Broad Beans.  They look so good but I haven’t gotten around to try them just yet.

Hippeas. I'm getting this snack because I think about it every time I go to the store but I leave without it. No more. I’ll try the white cheddar.  Let me know what you think about these.

And lastly, Noka Superfood Smoothie Pouches. These seem like they would be good. I’ll have to try this.  I’ve wanted a smoothie for a while especially since they don’t have a Smoothie King near me.  This would be a great alternative.
