When you give your life to Christ, you immediately have a target on your back.
The reason is because the devil’s opportunity to have you is non-existent but that doesn’t mean he's not going to tempt you or provoke you.
It’s important for you to be aware of his tactics.
“The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy.” John 10:10
“He prowls around like a roaring lion, waiting for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
I knew there was a drastic change that took place in how my life was before I got saved and how it was afterwards. (that’s another topic for later)
One thing I immediately knew was that I now had a target on my back. I realized things didn’t come so easy anymore. The opportunity to think I could walk around with nothing to worry about was no more.
Fast forward a decade later, I was in my women’s Bible study and we were beginning to read this book called “Armor of God.” Now before this book I’ve never heard of Priscilla Shirer but she changed my thinking, my life, my vision all with the help of God.
I truly began to see things clearer and understand the attack of the enemy. This book helped me to understand that the devil ain’t playing and the people he uses on this earth, we can’t be afraid of, for one and two, he’s using them as puppets for his own demise. I refused to let the enemy attack me in such a way. Reading this book, I understood the difference between the attacks of this world and the attack in the spiritual realm.
When you have given your life to Christ, it’s like open season for the devil and he will try any and everything to attack you to give up on God, redirect you into doing things of this world and not what God has for you, he will turn your world upside down and not in a good way.
He will try to bait you into thinking something is better than what it actually is. Example: You know the mother that wanted a daughter so badly that she basically kidnapped Rapunzel and made it seem like she was her own? Do you remember she created this façade and appeared as a loving and beautiful mother who only wanted to protect her child? Later on when Rapunzel found out what was actually going on and how she grew up was all a lie, the woman wasn’t able to depend on Rapunzel’s hair (her blessing) to continue on with the charade.
You need to know and understand what the enemy is capable of. He studies your every move so when someone is attacking you mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, that is the enemy trying to get you to curse God.
Know that God is on your side. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Know the truth for yourself. Don’t go by what others may say, listen to what God is saying. He’s never going to put you in harm's way. God always gives you what you need.
Build your relationship with God. Submerge and submit your life in God’s presence, His goodness, His love, His grace, and His Word. Stay connected to Him. You will always have someone to protect you, someone who will see you through. Trust Him.
